Happy 4th of July!

The 4th of July celebrations started early Saturday, July 3rd in Ridgefield.

Makayla and Dylan ran in the kids dash- 1/2 mile run.  Makayla took 3rd and Dylan took 4th.

Then mom ran a 5K with her nephew-Braden Hadfield!  His long legs beat her up the hill to

come in before her!

Then we watched Jen come in from her 10K!

It was a nice cool morning- with lots of mosquito's.

Mom then helped a little at the PTA booth selling strawberry shortcake.

And dad took the kids for a walk around the booths in Ridgefield.

Then it was time for the parade- and let the candy collecting begin.

Grandma and grandpa Draper and the Pierce family came to join the fun.

I remember going to the 4th of July parade in RB every year- but I don't remember coming home with a big bag of candy.  Its more that Halloween.

Then- it was time to go home and rest and get ready for the St. Paul Rodeo in St. Paul Oregon.

We got there a little early, but the crowd poured in. 

And we began eating more treats. What are holidays for if not to overload on treats.
