Dylans Soccer season

Dylan is coming to the end of another soccer season. This guy just loves soccer! He plays everyday at school, plays almost everyday outback and has fun in another season with Capitol Soccer. This age group doesn't have goalies, but Dylan learned if he just stays back he can block the other team from ever scoring. Its pretty funny. He has scored this season too!

Always watching the ball.
He is pretty quick!

The coaches giving a pep talk at half time!

Way to go Dylan- you're one awesome soccer stud!
( I think he may be thinking of changing careers- he asked the other night- "Do soccer players get paid as much as baseball players?")

Makaylas 5K!!

Makayla just finished another season of Girls on The Run. Last semester she didn't get to run the 5K because it was on Sunday, so this was her first one! She was so excited. During the race she told me she only wanted to sign up again if the race was on another Sunday, but after the race she was wanting to join again! Her and her running buddy. We made it to the half way point without stopping, then Makayla said we needed to walk!
The group getting ready to start!

They invite family members and friends to run with the girls, and makayla wanted me to run with her. We had fun together!

We ran around a lake so Quinn kept the other kids busy throwing rocks in the water!

If you looks close you can see runners coming over the dam. In the winter we sled here, at the top makayla said- I wish there was snow and I would just sled down to the finish line!
Allie found a seat to wait in the long grass.

Here we are coming down the finish line! All the cheers made makayla get moving again!

Makayla showing her muscles- 40 minutes and 38 seconds! Way to go Girl!!!

GOTR GOTR GOTR Girls on the Run is so much fun!

Washington Pictures

A great part of our quick trip to the Northwest was getting to see some family! My sisters kids got to meet Lance for the first time- even it was just for a quick minute! We met them at the bus stop as my sis got off work!
We got to meet our newest family member- she was only 2 weeks old! Looks at those cute nephews we have!

When you only see family once a year- there are always new kids to meet. Another new cousin- Lance was giving him a love- they are going to be great buddies!

Quinns youngest brother was getting married the next week- we were one week too early. Here he is with his cute new wife! We were so glad we could meet her!

Lances favorite day of the trip was our last night there at grandmas when all the cousins came over for dinner. I think he was missing his big brother and sisters.

Makayla was sad she wasn't there to sing around the piano with Grandma Draper!

Quinn had so much fun with his brother. Those two got each other laughing so hard I think their stomachs ached the next day. I don't know what we'd do if we moved close to them- they would have TOO much fun!

We had a great time visiting with all the family there. It was a great end to a busy trip.

Job Hunting

Quinn was able to fly to the northwest and look into some practice opportunities, then Lance and I flew out the next week to meet him and look around. The first place we went together was to Aberdeen Washington- its right on Grays Harbor and we spent the night down at Ocean Shores. We couldn't believe how many deer were cruising the town. Quinn took pictures of almost everyone one we saw but I decided not to blog all of them- sorry babe.
I did like this one, grazing in the grass by the beach! It was chilly there, but beautiful!
We drove out onto the beach for a quick picture- but I was so tired by this night, we didn't spend mush time there. We could see the ocean and a big Bonn fire out our hotel window.

Another deer walking along the road!

By this night Lance had spent hours on planes and at airports and riding in cars- he was really a trooper!

Until I put him in the bed at the hotel. He didn't understand that it was almost midnight Nebraska time!!

The story behind this picture:
One of the most eventful parts of our trip:
After Aberdeen we headed to Olympia. Quinn dropped Lance and I at our Hotel so he could go 'talk shop'. Lance went down for a nap so I locked the door, and went down to the lobby to check my email. I came back upstairs about 10 minutes later and couldn't get into my room. I went down had the guys re swipe my card, ran back up stairs, still no luck. Ran back downstairs, ran back up stairs... this went on for OVER an HOUR. These guys could NOT get me into my room!! Really guys- I have a sleeping baby in there- can you just move a little faster??
Finally they decided it was broken and went for plan B:
Through the window! Luckily I had my purse with me and my camera so I was able to snap a picture. May need it when I write the hotel about how unhelpful they were.
Also, Lance stayed asleep until I got in about an hour and a half later. Yep- that was exciting.
By then Quinn was back so we went to dinner in Olympia!
It is so beautiful there!
Lance liked the water show- he never saw the one in Vegas! We wanted to show the kids Washington's capitol, since we are in Nebraska's!

After Olympia- we went to the Vancouver Washington area. This is where Quinn spent most of his time growing up. The house he lived in is for sale so we went and looked at it! Fun memories!
After spending time in Vancouver- we headed home- and that's an entire new story...

May Pictures

This has been a busy month for our family- and it's not over yet. Here are some pictures of our busy times! Lance has decided he wants to eat ALL BY HIMSELF. This means give him the spoon and let him make a big mess. Gross, seriously gross. But with the big lids laughing at him- he thinks its fantastic!
Some warmer weather has allowed us to play out in the sprinklers!

This is while Quinn was in Boston and I just finished mowing and turned on the sprinkler- the kids ran in and got their suits on and were outback before I finished mowing the front yard.

We have had preschool back here for part of May. Lance loves it!
He thinks hes as big as the 3 year olds!

We had the letter X, so we became pirates looking for the giant X where our treasure was buried!

Cute kiddos getting ready to follow their treasuer maps.

Theres no place like home...

It has been a LONG busy couple of weeks around here. I will get my pictures in here soon, but I am just glad to be home! Quinn, Lance and I spent this last week in the Northwest looking at some places we may move and work. It was a lot of running around but hopefully we got a few leads!
We were supposed to get on a plane and be home last night by 7- but we rolled into Lincoln at 11:30 pm!! It was a crazy end to our week- we have almost caught up today- and will be ready to be back on schedule by Monday! No matter how great trips can be it is always so nice to be back home!

Happy May Day

I don't know why I really love May Day.
Maybe it's because its a new holiday to me- I never celebrated it until we moved to Nebraska.
Maybe it's because it is celebrating spring (and sunshine)- my favorite season.
Maybe it's because my kids love to door bell ditch treats on all our neighbors doors.
Maybe it's because I can watch kids running all over the neighborhood delivering their May Day treats. The kids that have been hibernating inside throughout the long cold winter.
Maybe it's because everyone just seems to smile and say happy may day all day...

I just think it's a great holiday and I know we'll take it with us wherever we go next...The kids would giggle and run to the door every time we heard a door bell- look at all those treats! We sure have some fun neighbors.
We made our May Day baskets this year. Last year Lance was just a week old and I didn't know about it. I promised the kids we'd make baskets this year. (Most 'baskets' are cups filled with popcorn and candy- we tied ribbon handles on ours).

I was holding a May Day basket trying to get a picture of Lance- he just wanted the treats!
Happy May Day- we're half way through spring- that means summer is quickly approaching!
