We were able to drive down to Capitola, California to spend time with my mom and dad, my brother and sister and ALL of their families for a fun week we called The Jorgenson Family Reunion!
My uncle Ron and Aunt Crystal Packard have a beautiful beach house, just a few blocks from the beach that they let family come and enjoy. We had such a fun time together, the weather was great and I know Grandma and Grandpa J were in heaven!
First of all- our ride down there was really gorgeous. We haven't driven that since our honeymoon. We loved driving by Mt Shasta!
The Draper group got in Saturday evening and Grandma & Grandpa J were already there. We unloaded and went for a walk down to the pier, and the kids couldn't wait to chase the waves!
Allie got a little too close to one, and it knocked her right over! Makayla was quick to the rescue and Allie was up laughing pretty fast. Luckily Grandma had a warm sweater we could wrap around her til we made it back home. Then she showered off out back in the outdoor shower- a definite must for a beach house!
After she came in and got bathed and warmed up she showed off the Draper family room- aka "the Ship room". Decorated so cute with a little Crews Quarters where our little shipmates could camp out in their sleeping bags.
Then time for some crafts and games while we waited for the Sharp family to arrive that night!
Sunday morning we were up and ready for church with the Capitola ward!
Then home for more fun and crafts, a picnic on the beach, and Amy & Quinn took a pretty bike ride
up the coast!!
Monday we loaded up- and headed to the beach for some fun in the sun, water and sand!
This day sure wore us out! Luckily as we were getting ready to head back, we got a call that Tyler, Tanya and their kids had made it in, and we were ready for more fun! (except for some of their kiddos who were a little sick on night 1!) My kids couldn't wait to meet their new cousin Chase.
Giggling with Andy then, time for Family Night! Grandpa taught about the Armour of God, and each family made a suit of armour out of cardboard!
Then Tuesday morning, we lined up for a family picture in our reunion shirts Grandma J made. Each of the grand kids had a number on their shirt, representing the order they entered the family-
Then more time at the beach- which again- can wear you out!
Tuesday night all the rides at the Santa Cruz pier are only 1$. What a deal- we took the whole troop for a fun fun night! I love how on the first ride I asked Dylan to ride with Allie so I could go with Lance, and Dylan tried to pretend he didn't like the 'kiddy' ride, when I could tell he really did!
Allie, Lance, Andy & Ashlyn had so much fun going from ride to ride!
Makayla and Dylan went on the log ride, and they loved it- I think they went 3 or 4 times with dad and grandpa, until they got too wet to keep going!
Made for a late night- with some tired happy kids!
After the rides, the Sharp group had to head home driving through the night. The next morning was Chases 3 month bday! And this day we drove down to Monteray so Quinn, Makayla, Grandpa & Dylan could kayak with the sea lions.
Then we walked down fishermens wharf, tried clam chowder, ate ice cream cones and looked at more sea lions!
What a fun fun trip! The next day was Thursday, and we had to wake up early for our drive back to Washington. We really had so much fun there. I'm so grateful the Packard's share that special place with us, and that my family had such a fun time there together! More wonderful memories made for our memory books...what more can you ask for?

LOVE this posting! What a great journal of a terrific time together. I am looking forward to doing it again.
What a beautful place, and fun family reunion. I have never been to any of the northern California beaches, but they look fantastic.
Definitely a fun trip. Can't wait for next year!
