Look whos TWO!

On Lances bday we put some candles in his muffin for breakfast.  He would sit and smile while we sang, then he'd try and blow.  But after many tries he could not get that fire out.  So he'd ask "Awie" or "Dyn" to help.  Then he would say, "Day- day. Me. and blow"  Meaning, sing to me again so I can blow out candles.
All day we would hear, "Day-day, me. blow".  I think we lit about a hundred candles that day!
Lance wants a ball in his hands 24 hours a day.  During Dylans basketball season he was trying to shoot "hoops" all day.  Now that its baseball time, he finds a hat, a glove and plays 'tatch' all day.  He has some pretty good form too!  He even grabs as many balls as he can hold, brings them over to me and says, "Me, hit."  Then goes across the room and gets into perfect batting position.
I think on his first birthday he had a big bruise on his head in the same spot too.  He actually has a dent on his forehead from bonking it so much!  Thats what little boys do.
For his present he got, of coarse, BALLS.
As I pulled out each ball, this is how it went:
Baseball: 'Lance whats this ball?" Lance: "Heet"
Football: "Lance whats this ball?" "Hike"
Soccerball: "Whats this?" "Keek"
Basketball, "Whats this one? "Hoop, iiin!"
He is pretty cute, and we are loving how he is trying to make sentences. The other day Dylan got hurt doing something boys do I guess, and Lance came up to me and said:
"Mom.    Mom.    Dyn.    Owwie.    Dyn.    Fry.    Waaa.   Mom."

We has some of his nursery friends from church come over sunday for some cake and ice cream too.  Another chance to sing and blow out candles.

And it was actually sunny that day, so we could go out back and enjoy some sun.  Don't be fooled, it did rain the rest of the week.
This boy is so much fun to have in our family.  I love to watch Makayla and Dylan have fun with him, and he and Allie are best buds.  He is always watching out for her and if he gets something, he alwyas gets one for 'Awwie' too.  Im glad she get one more year at home before kindergarten.  I don't know what Lance would do without her!
Lance loves hair. Not just his hair, anybodys hair.  Last year as I was flying with him to meet Quinn for interviews, he would keep leaing over in his seat to play with someones hair.  At church he tries to lean forward to touch someones long pretty hair.  I've notice it just goes with his binky, but getting him away from his 'kinky' looks like its going to be hard work.
Binky and hair, his two loves.
start with yours, but if someones closer, move over:
Happy Big Bday Lancey Pants.  We love you!!

Quinn is enjoying having some days off.  He seems to always find something to do to keep himself busy!  Here was dinner last week:

Its fun to have him around a little more!  And I think he's having some fun too!

A Fun Visitor!

Eric Mathison was in Washington interviewing for work, and we were able to have him stay with us for one night!  The kids were so excited, you would have thought it was Christmas!  This family has become such good friends of ours, and Eric was like the kids Dad #2 while we were in Nebraska.
The night he was in town Dylan had a baseball game so we braved the cold weather and went to watch!
Even Grandpa Draper came over to watch Dylan play!
We can't wait to hear if these guys get to move closer to us!

We ended up getting spaghetti, meatballs, rolls, jello and applesauce too.
Love ya Dylan boy!

Kid Pitch Baseball

Dylans getting used to having kids pitch at him, sometimes you just can't get out of the way in time!
Can you see his little shinner?

The circle of life

I was so lucky to be in California for Grandmas funeral- and get to meet my new nephew that week too!  Its so great to watch the whole circle of life, saying goodbye to grandma and hello to a sweet little baby boy.

Great Grandma Bolyin meeting Allie May: Feb. 2006
Grandma Boylin returned to her heavenly home April 10, 2010
I was so grateful to get to go to california and help my mom put on a beautiful funeral service for her.  She was an amazing woman, and I loved hearing so many more great stories about her while I was down there.  I am so grateful she served in the church and raised my mom in the gospel, so that I have the gospel today.  I know my grandpa was happy to see her again!
Grandma gets to rest next to grandpa boylin.
The cute centerpieces for the luncheon.  There were so many great pictures of her all around!

My brother and my cousins were the pallbearers.
I am so tahnkful for my mom and for her example to me.  Grandma Boylin lived with my parents the last 8 years.  It is so wonderful to know Heavenly Father has a plan for each of us.
Thank you Grandma- we will miss you!

Baseball season has begun!

Dylan is playing in the minors this year.  This is his first year to have kids pitch to him, not a coach!  He is the youngest on the team, but also one of the most tallented (of coarse!)  He has played in three games so far and they have a 2 and 1 record.  This is his fourth little league- hes a pirate this year!  And daddy gets to help the coaches too.
On opening ceremonies they had some funny relays to do-
heres dylan spinning in cirlces and running the bases!

Up to bat in his game!  He got a double, a single and one strikeout in this game!

Dylan likes pitching- I think he gets bored when he's outfield.  Quinn goes out to warm him up.
Its going to be a fun season!

Music Class

I have a very tallented friend with some kids the same age as my little two.  We go to her house once a week and have fun with music!  The kids look forward to it and it is one of their most favorite days!  Sometimes we play music class at home too!
They love the free time with instruments and making sounds in the microphone. The have lots of fun with Miss Channing.

Happy Easter!

I do think its a little funnny that Lance does not like characters- like the Easter bunny.
I've never had a baby that would cry when santa came by or wouldn't give the baseball mascot a big high-five.  But here we are, mom holding Lance with the bunny so we could get a picture with him in it!
Happy Easter!

It was fun to have Easter over Conference weekend.  Saturday morning we watched conference at home then took the kids to a little hunt here in Ridgefield where we could go see the bunny.  Then during the priesthood session we went and met cousins at another hunt before meeting back together for pizza night!  The kids had a fun time.

Lance went with the youngest group, then Allie Whitney and Kolby went next, then Dylan and Brocks group, and then Makayla, Aspen and Kaitlins group!
It ws pretty chilly this evening.
Easter Morning:
We were tired after a long pizza night with cousins, so the kids came down one by one in the morning to find candy in their baskets and around the house.  I went down with Lance first and sat him on the couch with juice and a show.  Soon he noticed some candy around the house and I heard, "Mom!  Ohhh!  Eat!!"
Then we watched the next session of conference in PJ's!
What a wonderful conference it was- and how grateful we are for Easter!!
