I have been so tired of the cold, and somehow today it warmed up to a balmy 48 degrees. (almost 40 degrees warmer than wednesday). Now in Vegas we would be bundled up saying its too cold, but my kids decided to take all their goodies outside from the grocery store trip (see precious blog post), and have a picnic out back. I loved how they put on their flip flops. Again- my throat hurts too bad to tell them put on socks and shoes. I am so thankful for this nice day so my kids can go out and play and mom can rest!

A Tender Mercy
I have been so tired of the cold, and somehow today it warmed up to a balmy 48 degrees. Try this when your sick.
After spending the week sick, and not being able to eat, load up all your kids and go to the grocery store. Knowing that theres not much food at home, and you can't eat anything anyways because your throat hurts so bad, its just easier to nod and let your kids put whatever they want in the cart so you can hurry and get home and lay down. It hurts too much to talk and explain why we don't need doughnuts, cookies and popsicles. So heres Allie eating a cupcake for lunch. Next to her are the pretty flowers my mom sent- thanks mom that really brightened my day!

Moms can't get sick!!!
OK- I don't have any pictures to go with this one, although I did take a few on my camera phone at the Doctors trying to keep kids entertained today! Just thought I would put in a little update of the last few days at the Drapers house.
Allie has had a low fever and sore throat most of the week, but was acting Ok, so I let it go. Until Wed. my throat started hurting, so I took her in to see what she had. On my way out the door, I got a call from Dylans school nurse- he was in there sick too- so we stopped and got him and went to the Dr.s. Allie looked fine- thought it was just a virus and he said Dylan maybe getting a little cold or flu- just let him rest. My throat was still killing now to the point where I haven't been able to eat or swallow for two days and Im running a little fever too. ( I never realized how nice it is to be able to swallow!)
So today I kept Dylan home and was looking up on WebMD maybe what I had when a friend called to see if Makayla could go over after school. I told her we had a little bug here, so Im just going to keep her home. I told her how I was feeling and she said I should get to the DR, so I loaded up the kids and went. They ran a strep test, it came back positive so now Im on some meds. And it only took 1 1/2 hours at the Dr. ;)
Then my friend showed up this afternoon with a pan of hot cinnamon rolls and homemade chicken noodle soup! After the last few days I couldn't keep back the tears. It meant so much to me! Its not fair for moms to get sick- because who's there to take care of them- especially when their husband has left for another weekend! I guess a little angel was looking out for me- Im so thankful for the good friends we have here- and I just want to get better!! Everyone else here is doing fine- which is a good thing!
Well- thats my little entry for the day. We'll try for some fun pictures next time!

President Hinckley
We are so blessed to have a living prophet on the earth today. I loved this little tribute to President Hinckley- what a remarkable man.

Happy Valentines Day!
Yikes- I forgot Valentines is almost as bad as halloween! The kids came home from school on a cranky sugar overload. Allie didn't understand why they had all this candy and she didn't, and the drama of trying to throw any of those precious cards away! What a day. I finally convinced them to clean it all up by taking pictures of them, with their boxes and cards so we could throw them away. The Valenitnes fairy almost didn't even want to stop by last night. ( I heard she didn't leave as much as she had for fear of feeding into this mess of a day.) Ah, the LOVE.....

Happy Birthday sis!
We can hardly believe Makayla just had another birthday! We had a fun day taking some friends to a movie and having lunch at our place. She felt like a real princess for the day! ( and yes- we had frozen pizzas- we let her pick what to have and that is what she wanted for lunch on her birthday!)
SNOW DAY
