More Spring Break

What a fun and busy Spring Break we had! Here's a wrap up of the rest of our fun: Friday Grandma and Makayla had a little Girls Night out trip. Makayla got her nails done and found some fun things at Claires- her new favorite place. Grandma tried to get her to pierce her ears, but Makayla now says shes waiting til shes 13!
Saturday we went and played at the YMCA. Dylan and Makayla did the rock wall.

They tried hard with all of us cheering them on.

Our favorite thing at the Y is the pool- Grandma and Grandpa were the photographers- until Quinn went down the slide- then they got a little wet too! ;)

Sunday- their last day here. What a fun day. Makayla and Dylan shared their testimonies in sacrament meeting and Allie gave her first talk (and musical number) in Primary! She wanted to sing the builder song- we're glad Grandma and Grandpa J could be here for that!
Thanks for coming grandma and grandpa- we love you!!!

Fridays Spring Break

It's still spring break- so more time to play! We spent Friday in town and went to take a tour of the Nebraska State Capitol Building. Its really full of some amazing art work and lots of amazing details. The kids didn't find it too exciting so we then went to Runza (a Nebraska place) for lunch! Grandpa and the kids at the capital building.
In the senate room.

A view from the top- it sure looks flat up there!

Spring Break part 1

This week has been spring break, but it has sure felt more like winter!
On Monday we went to play at the museum and played with friends until the evening when the tornado sirens went off. We had a crazy storm blow through and left some rain.
Tuesday we cleaned house to get ready for visitors to come- and even played with some friends that day too.
Wednesday we got our shopping done and went up to Omaha to pick up Grandma and Grandpa J from the airport! The kids were so excited. It didn't take Lance long to warm up to them. We spent some time on the riverfront and in Old town then G & G watched the kids at the Amazing Pizza Machine while mom went to the temple. I'll have to get pictures from them to put on here. It was a fun busy day!
Thursday we drove to Nebraska City and visited the Arbor day tree farm. What a fun place. We walked the trails and played in their outdoor play centers- then we had a HUGE lunch at the Leid Lodge. What a fun day! We found these kissing trees on the hike- Dylan tried to hide them from us- but grandma said stop for a picture!
All 4 of my kids at the picture spot!

Taking a picture break with G and G. Lance did pretty good 4-wheelin' over some parts of the trail. We had to lift him over the bridges!

Fun fun- and more to come on our spring break!

More Pictures

I'm trying to get most of my pictures on here so I can try to scrapbook them from my blog- eventually. So here's some more pics - kinda out of order. This was the big Sea Lion we watched getting fed.
Quinn was trying to show the kids how to hang like monkeys and I tried to get a picture- when he saw the camera he tried to hurry down- so almost got it! But look at those muscles- what are you benching now like 200?

Isn't the peacock great!? Allie wasn't sure what to think about it and Dylan wanted to pull a feather out...

Some Pics of Lance- yikes he's 11 months old! Three teeth on the top and two on the bottom.

This is my construction helmet for primary singing time... He was having fun with it. He's really standing good now- he can take a few steps, but mostly just along couches and tables and with his walker. He really wants to run, not walk, so he likes to drop down and speed crawl everywhere.

You belong in the ZOO!

Quinn had Spring Break, the week before the kids. He kept very busy studying, going to the gym and looking for practice opportunities. We decided to take the kids out of school one day and just have a fun family day together- no work- just play! We headed up to the Henry Doorley Zoo in Omaha. This zoo is huge. We spent 6 1/2 hours there and had a ball. The weather was great, the kids were great and we had lots of fun! Too bad Lance had his eyes closed- oh well- 5 out of 6 isn't bad.
The kids had a great time in all the exhibits. I think we all liked the aquarium.

Lance had a great time being outside and playing with daddy all day! I think he got a little sun, but not too bad at all.

Picture time!

This new butterfly encounter is fun. There were some huge butterflies and moths in there!
We had a fun day- now we're looking forward to the kids real spring break because Grandma and Grandpa J will come play!

More Zoo pictures

Every time we saw animals, Allie wanted to feed them. Makayla found some hay in the petting zoo the goats would eat, and Allie was very excited!
We got to see the Sea Lions up close. The big one would smile and bark and even give high fives to the trainer!

Some cute kids enjoying the animals they could crawl on.

Monkeys watching the monkeys.

This jungle is great- but warm and humid like a real jungle.
The kids and dad liked the howler monkeys!
We had a great day at the Omaha Zoo!

Gisha Makayla

Makayla went to an 'Around the World" birthday party last weekend. She was supposed to dress up like someone from another country so I pulled out my Kimono from Japan. She thought it was pretty fun and I can't believe shes getting so big! This weekend was SO busy. Quinn left Friday for an Ortho conference in Dana Point California, and so I was single all weekend. It made for lots of loading and unloading kids and running them all over- and one extra long church meeting with only two hands and four kids. We are sure glad dads home!

Thing 1 and Thing 2

Friday to celebrate Read across America week and Dr. Seuss' Bday- the kids were supposed to dress up like a Dr. Seuss character for school. They weren't aloud to wear make up or colored hairspray, so this is what I came up with.
Here they are walking to meet their friends to walk to school. I found these white pom pom wigs and sprayed them with blue hairspray. They had every color but blue at the store. Then they put on red shirts and we made the name tags. Pretty good deal and they thought it was fun!

They had a fun day at school- Quinn said he never dressed up as a kid and I told him thats why he didn't like school! Man- look how tall Makayla is!

Whats for Breakfast?

Last weekend we woke up to a big pile of snow. Allie LOVES snow. I asked if she wanted snow for breakfast and Quinn went out and got a fresh bowl for her. Yummy.
Lance likes it too. I don't know why his hands don't get cold!

This one was cute. Allie said- "You can have some Lance" and he dug right in- face first!
The snow was all gone by Wednesday when it was in the 70's here. I am ready for SPRING!!!
