The Blogging World

I have to blog so you can see pictures of my cute kids- they are growing way too fast!!
I think it is so fun that so many of our friends and family have started blogging. We have so much fun taking a peak into your lives when we don't get to see you often enough. It seems to be a fun way to keep in touch with our friends and family. Quinn's sister and brother in law just started their blog and they posted lots of pictures from their trip here in Nebraska. You should check it out. Go to 'Our Favorite Family' on the side and click on Kim and Jason. You really can find some fun things to do in the heartland. I think we may really miss this place when we move. (Check back with me in a few months and I'm snowed in- I may have changed my mind). Until then- keep blogging because we miss you and love to keep in touch!!!

TV is back!

I just have to say how excited we are that The Office is going to be back on next week! If you haven't gotten into this show- come over and watch it with Quinn- he laughs so hard you can't help but laugh too. I think we burn about 100 calories an episode.
So, what shows are you looking forward to?

Oh how our days go by...

I really don't know where all the time goes- is September really coming to an end? Since school has started back up, we've just been flying from one thing to the next, so I thought I'd just post some random pictures of us lately! This picture is a special one I took just for my good friend, Kristen. She LOVES green beans, so when we picked all of these out of our garden, I thought about sending some to her in Vegas. But the girls talked me out of it. Sorry Kristen, maybe next time!! ;)
Some days running around with four kids can make me crazy, but then I get them all together for one second on the couch and I think how lucky I am to be a mom! Then we head off to church and after that I remember why I'm going crazy. PAY IT FORWARD... So when we lived in Vegas we had this big double stroller sitting in our garage for years. Then a friend of mine was having her second baby and we passed that big thing off to her. Fast forward a few years... now I have a baby who needs a stroller and a two year old who sometimes wants to ride too. So I've been watching Craig's list and checking out garage sales looking for a sit n stand stroller. These strollers are great, and hard to find used. Earlier this week I went to breakfast with some friends to celebrate a birthday, and my friend said she had s sit n stand stroller in her garage I could have! I was so thrilled! So we went to get it and not only is it a sit n stand, it converts to a regular double stroller- which was perfect for this day when i went to pick the big kids up from school and the little ones fell asleep. She just made my day sharing with us! Thank you Thank you!!! (Quinn says we have too many strollers, but I really use all of them.)
There's something about Allie.
There you have it- some fun pictures of our life lately.
There's always something fun going on here!

Allies School Days...

With my big kids off to school, Allie really wanted to go to 'school' too. We found some friends to rotate a preschool with. We each take a month at a time. I have September here at our house, and we have had two classes so far. Allie LOVES getting ready for school, singing songs, and having friends to play with. (it doesn't bother her they are all boys!)

I am having fun doing 'preschool' lessons again! I think this will be a fun year and a fun group of friends!

Time to Eat

Every time we eat- Lance looks at us with those big blue eyes and licks his lips. So the other day I whipped up some yummy Rice Cereal, and thought we'd give it a try. Here he is ready to go: Now, it's hard to eat when you're smiling so big, but here he is showing me right where to put the food! He didn't eat much, but thought it was pretty funny. He is getting so Big! 4 1/2 months!

part 3

If you're working you're way backwards through our blog, this is the last day of our labor day weekend with the Bates Family. We had a fun visit with the Bates family and were sad to see them go! We kept super busy and made some great memories. Here we are at the Winter Quarters visitor Center, by the temple. What a neat place to visit!
Families are forever!
We had a great weekend with Quinn's sister and her family here. Since they have left we have been thinking about how lucky we are to be part of such great families. We are so thankful for them. We don't live near most of our families, but we love the times we do get to spend with them. They are the most important things in this life. Since we don't see them often, the times we spend are all the more special. Our little family continues to grow here and we are happy together wherever we live- Home is where the heart is!
Thanks for sharing your lives with us- we are so lucky to be a part of something bigger than ourselves- part of our eternal family! We love you.

Labor Day Weekend- Part 2

For some reason I can only post 5 pictures at a time, so these posts will be backwards. Start with Labor day weekend then come back to here!
TUESDAY-
Tuesday turned out to be a rainy day- which was lots of fun too! We went to the Children's museum downtown and played there for a long time! Here Quinn and Jason are building in the water works, with the kids trying to help!
Go Big Red. The kids loved this fun museum, when you come to visit, we will be sure to take you here. Its one of our favorite places.
Hanging out- we wanted to go see the capitol building after this, but decided not to walk that far in the rain!
WEDNESDAY
This was the Bates last day so we went up to Omaha and spent some time at this cool place called the Amazing Pizza Machine. It was really amazing. Plus we had the place all to ourselves, since the kids were supposed to be in school. Good food and good fun!

Here we are getting ready to race. The kids did the roller coaster, the bumper cars and the race track. Then we went to Winter Quarters before heading to the airport... what a FUN busy weekend!! Thanks for coming Kim and Jason- we love you guys!!!

Labor Day weekend- Nebraska Style!

Here is the beginning of our week:
We had so much fun this last weekend- the Bates family came up to visit from Arizona! We LOVE having family come visit, and we tried to show them a good time Nebraska style
(watch for the RED)! SATURDAY- their first day here. We dressed up in our Nebraska Red and went to the State fair! Today was also game day, and Quinn and Jason were able to go to the first game of the season. (I'll need to get some of those pics from Jason).
If you have never seen the Nebraska stadium on game day- it is quite a sight to behold. We think it is pretty cool to see so many fans everywhere. While the boys were at the game, Kim and I went to dinner. The waitresses didn't have on their uniform, on game day they were their Husker Red. Then we headed to Kohls to hit the sale racks and listened to the game while we shopped. (only in Nebraska!) Allies favorite part of the fair day was the baby chicks. The fair was fun and the weather was warm!
SUNDAY:

We celebrated birthdays for the Bates Girls. Kimberly and Cassidy just had birthdays and Courtneys is in a couple of weeks! Any chance we can celebrate we do it!
After the party the kids had to go find their goody bags outback. They were good treasure hunters and spent lots of time out back this weekend!
MONDAY

The boys went golfing this morning and the girls took the kids on a walk to the school playground. Then after lunch we went to give a tour of Quinns school! Here the kids dressed up as doctors. From here we went to the park for FHE picnic, but ended up going to the ER. (See the previous post).

We will, we will ROCK you!

First of all, I have to say what a FUN labor day weekend we had, but before I go on, Makayla wanted me to be sure and post her excitement! On Monday we went to the park for a fun FHE but before we got too far, Makayla got hit in the head by a ROCK! She was quite the trooper, I think she was more nervous to get stitches than anything. Here she is at the hospital. They were very nice and very fast there.
Quinn wanted to do the stitches himself, but we trusted the good doctor at the ER, and he did a great job- just three little stitches!
Dad will take them out tomorrow! Good memories...
I will post the labor day weekend fun when I have more time!
