Whenever summer comes to an end I get a little sad. I love the warm weather, and the chance we have to spend so much time together. It seems like every morning in the summer we can just pick something fun to do! Then I soon realize how fast time goes, and my kids are starting another school year.
For family night before school, we sat around the table and talked about all the fun things we did this summer. Then dad gave the kids a fathers blessing before another school year.
They get big so fast.
Lance said he liked blackberries. 'Yak-Yerries"
This year Allie is doing a preschool group with mom, and a music class with some moms and friends and she will be going to dance once a week. She will have a fun year, and next year she will be in kindergarten!
This summer she said she liked the beach, blackberries, playing at reunion in Idaho, the beach house, the sun and going on the boat!
Dylan is going into 4th grade!
He said this summer he liked water- skiing, knee boarding, selling rocks and blackberries, fireworks, airsoft wars, cub camp and cousins. He became quite the salesman this summer. He spent many days selling blackberries, rocks, cookies or lemonade at stand in the neighborhood. He made some good money too!
Makayla is going to 6th grade.
At Union Ridge Elementary- the 6th graders are at the elementary school, so she hasn't had to move schools yet. The middle school has 7th&8th, but she trying to get me to homeschool her next year.
Makayla loved cousin sleepovers, boating, swimming- she passed off the butterfly at swim lessons- kayaking in california, seeing grandparents, activity day camp and grandpas house.
And there goes the summer-
Allie told me the other day,
"Mom, Target has halloween things out- WE should get out our Halloween things!"
Time to start thinking about Halloween costumes- until another summer.

What a great re-cap of a very busy summer! You are right, they do go by way too fast!
